Sacred Texts: Transparencies of Eternity
Borrowing a really good idea and celebrating one of my favorite books
On one of my favorite podcasts, Vibe Check, the hosts Sam Sanders, Zac Stafford, and Saeed Jones have utilized conversations around some of the books and media that they return to time and time again. They named these their sacred texts.1 It’s a great way of framing the books that really move us and it immediately sparked my own reflections.
In the spirit of their reflections, I bring to you my own mini-series on the books and media that ground me. These are my sacred texts I return to time and time again. One such book is a slim little publication called Transparencies of Eternity by Ruben Alves. Of the thousands of books I’ve read, this easily falls in my top ten.
